R.E.M. announced they were done as a band a while ago, which evoked some rather bittersweet emotions in me. I was a big fan of theirs; there are few bands that can write so much good music without repeating themselves. I don’t think they were wrong to stop if they felt it was time, if they believed they had achieved all that they could, but I’ll still miss them.
So here’s one of my favourite songs of theirs, from their first album, 1983’s Murmur.
I don’t even know why I’m so incredibly fond of this little song, but I am.
